Our Data Privacy Commitment
Ormond Orthodontics is fully committed to your right to privacy and will not collect any personal information about you or your child that is not needed.
We want to ensure the highest standard of practice for our patients. We see your personal information as important to us and our practice adheres to the privacy guidelines of the Irish and European Data Protection legislation.
What kind of information do we collect?
In order to provide you with Dental treatment it is necessary we collect and keep information on your health and treatment on our records. We retain your information securely
We only ask for and keep information that is necessary. We will attempt to keep it as accurate and up to date as possible. We will explain the need for any information we ask for if you are not sure why it is needed
We ask you to inform us about any relevant changes that we should know about. This would include new medications or changes to your health. Please also inform us of change of address and phone numbers.
All persons in the practice (not already covered by a professional confidentiality code) sign a confidentiality agreement.
Access to records is regulated to ensure that they are used only to the extent necessary to enable the secretary or manager to perform their tasks for the proper functioning of the practice.
Your right of access to your Health Information
You have the right of access to all the personal information held about you by this practice. If you wish to see your records, please discuss with whoever is treating you. You can make a formal written access request to the practice and forms are available from reception. We endeavour to complete your request within 30 days
Disclosure of information to other health professionals
We may need to pass some of this information to other health professional and other agencies in order to provide you with the treatment and services you need.
The law provides in certain instances personal information can be disclosed in for example the case of infectious diseases.
In case of disclosure to insurance companies or solicitors we will only release information with your signed consent.
